The 2014 China International Trenchless Technology Conference & Exhibition was held from April 18th to 20th 2014 at the Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center. There were 717 guests from 25 provinces and autonomous region in China and other 15 countries and regions registered for this conference, 1965 person-time visit came to the exhibition during these three days. Honored guests such as professor Yan Chunwen, Vice chairman of China Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. Derek Choi, chairman of International Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. Wim Elzink, the convenor of the resp. International ISO Standardisation Group, Mr.Kusuta Tetsuya, Vice-Chairman of JSTT, Dr. Klaus Beyer, secretary-general of German Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. An Guanfeng, Vice-president/Chief Engineer of Guangzhou City Municipal Group Ltd. Co., Ltd., Mr. Kong Qinghua, Xuzhou Xugong Foundation Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. presented at the opening ceremony and did the ribbon cutting.

During this conference, Mr. Yan Chunwen, Vice chairman of China Society of Trenchless Technology did a report named "The Report of Chinese Trechnless Industry in 2013", Mr. Wim Elzink, the convenor of the resp. International ISO Standardisation Group gave us a report called "Trenchless Pipeline Rehabilitation and its Quality assurance", and Dr. Klaus Beyer, secretary-general of German Society of Trenchless Technology did a report named "Trenchless Innovations from Germany"., Mr.Kusuta Tetsuya, Vice-Chairman of JSTT did a report named "About Trenchless Technology in Japan", Mr. An Guanfeng, Vice-president/Chief Engineer of Guangzhou City Municipal Group Ltd. Co., Ltd. did a report named "Status and Development Trend of Trenchless Technology in Guangdong Province", Mr. Chang Renqi, Director of R&D Center, Xuzhou Xugong Foundation Construction Machinery Co.,Ltd. did a report named "Future Trends and Application of Horizontal Directional Drilling". All these reports drew great interest and discussion from our guests.

We had, "Pipeline rehabilitation", "Pipe jacking/micro-tunneling", and "HDD Technology", three specialized topic sessions this year. During these sessions, the technical regulations and project rate of each technology were released. Besides, ITTC2014 had a private session for Secretary-General from Shanghai, Fujian, and Guangdong.

During the conference, Xuzhou Xugong Foundation Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. held a new product launch conference respectively, and achieved great promotion effect. There were also various themed technical workshops in which famous university like China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Chengdu University of Technology and enterprises like Henan ZhongTuo Petroleum Engineering Technology Co.,Ltd., Shaoxing Brother Foundationworks Co.,Ltd. , Beijing No.2 Municipal Construction Engineering Ltd., Fujian Xin Yong Tong Trenchless Engineering Technology Co,Ltd., and ALLFIND Environmental Technology (Shanghai) Limited made cases analysis and introduction about their technical advantages, products and construction experiences, covering aspects such as pipeline rehabilitation, application of new materials, construction cases with drilling machine and project risk control. All these enterprises and university did a lot of promotion in combination with their on-site exhibition and delivered an overall demonstration to our guests. There were 53 enterprises brought their new products and technologies to this year's exhibition,17 of which were the first time here, and 80% of exhibitors brought their real products to show. We witness a further improvement in the performance, quality and appearance of the domestic equipment on this year's exhibition which attracted visitors from America, U.K. , German, Japan, India, Singapore, Pakistan, Philippine, and etc.

2014 is the 18th anniversary for ITTC. This year, we had a "Drillto Night" gala dinner party also granted the CSTT annual award, on which we presented an honor certificate to Professor. Wang Fuming, Zhengzhou University, who was selected as "2013 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry"; we also presented the "2013 Product/Technology of the Year of China Trenchless Industry" to Lianyungang Hauanghai Machinery Co.,Ltd.. Drillto Trenchless Co.,Ltd., Beijing Tianhuan Trenchless starline® Turning Lining Recovery Technique by Beijing Tianhuan Gas Co., Ltd., Henan Zhongtuo Petroleum Engineering Technology Co., Ltd; and the "2013 Project of the Year of China Trenchless Industry" went to Beijing Tianhuan Gas Co., Ltd ?C Trenchless Engineering Technology Sub Company, Henan Zhongtuo Petroleum Engineering Technology Co., Ltd, Tianjin Pipeline Engineering Group Pipeline Technology Develop Sub Company, and Zhejiang Linyun Water Conservancy and Hydropower Construction Co., Ltd..

Before the conference officially started, we held the CSTT board meeting in the conference room of Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center, on which our secretary general Mr. Zhu Wenjian gave us the annual financial report of 2013, and the working plan for 2014. Council members did a comprehensive discussion after over the report, and carried out the secret ballot of the 2013 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry. The preparation of ISTT No-Dig 2016 is also a main topic for the board meeting. 5 organizing committee members and 2 event supervisor were selected to join the work team. Fundamental principles of management were voted. We also held three parallel expert committee meetings on horizontal directional drilling, pipe jacking and pipeline rehabilitation respectively. During these meetings, the experts discuss the draft plan of industry standards in China.
