The 2016 China International Trenchless Technology Conference was held from April 22nd to 24th 2016 at Beijing Agricultural Expo Hotel . There were 105 guests from 25 provinces and autonomous region in China and other 2 countries and regions registered for this conference during these three days. Honored guests such as Mr. Wang Fuming, Chairman of CSTT, Academician of China Engineering Academy, Professor Mr. Shizuo Yoshikawa, Vice-Director of New Technology Department, Japanese Sawage Works Association, Professor Kusuta Tetsuya, vice chairman of Japan Society of Trenchless Technology, Mr. Jin Yi, Chief Engineer Beijing Urban Construction Group, Civil Engineering General Contracting Department, Mr. Zhang Yinxia, Prof. Level Engineer and Secretrait-General, International Society for Application and Communication of Low Impact Developing Project of Sponge City, and Mr. Liu Kehui, Vice Secretary, Professional Committee of Underground Pipeline of China Association of City Planning, Director/Researcher, Beijing Comprehensive Management Research Center of Underground Pipeline presented at the opening ceremony

During this conference, Mr. Wang Fuming, Chairman of CSTT, Academician of China Engineering Academy did a report named “Trenchless Repairing Technology of Roads and Underground Facilitie”, Mr. Jin Yi, Chief Engineer Beijing Urban Construction Group, Civil Engineering General Contracting Department gave a report called “Engineering Practice and Thinking of the Urban Underground Utility Tunnel”, Mr. Zhang Yinxia, Prof. Level Engineer and Secretrait-General, International Society for Application and Communication of Low Impact Developing Project of Sponge City gave a report named “From Sponge City Construction to City Drainage System Complete Upgrade”, Mr. Liu Kehui, Vice Secretary, Professional Committee of Underground Pipeline of China Association of City Planning, Director/Researcher, Beijing Comprehensive Management Research Center of Underground Pipeline gave a report called ” Construction and Development of Underground Utility Tunnel in China”, Professor Tetsuya Kusuda, Vice-Chairman of JSTT gave a report named “New Development on Trenchless Technology”,and Mr. Yan Chunwen, Vice-Chairman of CSTT also gave a report named “2015 China Trechnless Indsustry Review”. All these key note speeches presented by such distinguished guests drew great attention from all representatives and led to heated discussions.

There were four seminars about “horizontal directional drilling”, “pipe-jacking/micro tunneling”, “Pipeline rehabilitation”, and “New Products and Materials” respectively this year. The theme of this year’s seminars was the introduction of construction cases, during which the application of trenchless technologies in special conditions, extreme conditions and new products were introduced and discussed. Secretary-generals from the Societies in Beijing, Shanghai, Fujian and Guangdong had a private communication after the session.

During the conference, domestic and abroad leading companies made cases analysis and introduction about their technical advantages, products and construction experiences, covering aspects such as pipeline rehabilitation, pipe-jacking/micro tunneling, horizontal directional drilling and project risk control. All these enterprises did a lot of promotion in combination with their on-site exhibition and delivered an overall demonstration to our guests.

2016 is the 20th birthday for ITTC. This year. We selected the CSTT annual award and will presented at gala dinner of ISTT No-Dig Beijing 2016 at 10th Oct. 2016: we presented “2015 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry” award to Mr. Liu Shenglin, General Manager Hengshui Hongtai Trenchless Machinery Engineering Co., Ltd.., we also presented the “2015 Best Product of China Trenchless Industry” to Trenchelss Engineering Technology Sub-Company,Beijing Tianhuan Gas Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Dilong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. the “2015 Best Project of China Trenchless Industry” to Langfang Huayuan Mechatronics Engineering Co., Ltd.. Henan Zhongtuo Petroleum Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Lokng Ke Xing Trenchless Engineering Co., Ltd., Hengshui Hongtai Trenchless Machinery Engineering Co., Ltd. and, Fujian Dongchen Construction Engineering Group Xiamen Sub-Company and the “2014 Best Technology of China Trenchless Industry” to China University of Geosciences, Beijing.

Before the conference officially started, we held the CSTT standing council meeting in the conference room of National Agricultural , on which our secretary general Mr. Zhu Wenjian gave us the annual financial report and work summaryof 2015, and the working plan for 2016. Council members did a comprehensive discussion after over the report, and carried out the secret ballot of the 2015 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry. In the meantime, we also discussed about the preparation of ISTT No-Dig Beijing 2016 and its primary budget and fund raising, after which the managing method and basic principles for the work of the council are determined. In addition, we held an expert committee meeting in the conference room and talked about the industrial standards of horizontal directional drilling, pipe jacking and pipeline rehabilitation respectively.
